About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network & Security Engineer (Level 3) to join our growing team in Limerick. This is a hands-on role involving project delivery, advanced support, and presales consultancy across a range of security and networking technologies.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise with firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, SonicWall) and SASE platforms (Cato, Versa), along with proven experience in implementing and supporting enterprise-class solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery:
- Design, configure, and implement secure network and security solutions.
- Lead deployment of firewalls, VPNs, and SASE solutions across customer environments.
- Ensure best practices for scalability, performance, and compliance.
Support & Operations:
- Act as Level 3 escalation point for complex incidents and problem resolution.
- Perform proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation of security infrastructure.
- Conduct root cause analysis and produce post-incident reports.
Presales & Consultancy:
- Assist the sales team with technical scoping, solution design, and proposal development.
- Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and presentations.
- Provide guidance on emerging security and networking trends.
Collaboration & Leadership:

- Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to deliver successful outcomes.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with new product developments and certifications.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 5+ years’ experience in network & security engineering with hands-on deployment and support.
- Expertise with Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and SonicWall firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of SASE platforms (Cato Networks, Versa).
- Deep understanding of routing, switching, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
- Proven experience in delivering enterprise-level projects end-to-end.
- Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to act as final escalation point.
Desirable:
- Presales or consultancy experience with customers in enterprise or MSP environments.
- Familiarity with SIEM, SOC, and endpoint security solutions.
- Relevant certifications such as PCNSE, NSE4/7, CSSP, CCNP Security, or SASE vendor certifications.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS networking and security.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Industry certifications strongly preferred.
