FutureRange is looking to add a seasoned Network Security Engineer to our Network team. Your goal is to be one of the contributors to the global network team and develop the strategy to support the transformation to cloud services and a Zero Trust security framework. This is a tremendous opportunity to participate in the development of the next-generation security architecture. Ideal candidates will have a well-rounded knowledge of network perimeter security, network segmentation, zero-trust network access, and cloud security. This role will be heavily focused on project work, we have several firewall replacement projects from SonicWall to Palo Alto, this will included traveling to customer sites for implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Design and Implementation:
- Design and deploy scalable, high-performance network solutions for clients.
- Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking equipment.
- Ensure network redundancy and disaster recovery measures are in place.
2. Security Management:
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Monitor and analyse security alerts and logs to identify potential threats.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Implement and manage endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
3. Client Support and Maintenance:
- Provide advanced technical support for network and security issues.
- Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with client SLAs and IT best practices.
- Document network configurations, policies, and procedures.
4. Project Management:
- Lead and participate in network and security projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
5. Training and Development:
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in network and security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering and security, preferably in an MSP environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
Skills and Competence:
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and security solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.
- On-call availability for emergency situations.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
