Purpose of the Role

The AI Data Consultant will support clients in preparing, structuring and governing data to enable AI, automation and analytics use cases.

This role focuses on building strong data foundations, ensuring data is accessible, secure and well-governed so that AI tools can deliver meaningful business outcomes. You will work across advisory and delivery, helping clients move from fragmented data environments to structured, AI-ready platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Data Readiness & Assessment

  • Assess client data landscapes, quality and accessibility to determine readiness for AI and automation.
  • Identify gaps in data structure, governance and integration.
  • Support AI readiness and data maturity assessments.

Data Foundations & Governance

  • Design and implement structured, governed data foundations.
  • Support data classification, access controls, retention and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure alignment with security, privacy and compliance requirements.

Data Engineering & Integration

  • Build and manage data pipelines, integrations and transformation processes.
  • Enable data from Microsoft 365, Azure and business systems to be used for AI and automation.
  • Create scalable and reusable data structures across client environments.

Client Engagement & Advisory

  • Engage with clients to understand business needs, data challenges and priorities.
  • Translate requirements into practical data solutions and improvement plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on data readiness and AI enablement.

Pre-Sales & Commercial Support

  • Support discovery sessions, solution scoping and proposal development.
  • Identify opportunities where data improvements can unlock AI and automation use cases.
  • Contribute to client workshops and technical discussions.

Delivery & Collaboration

  • Deliver data-focused workstreams across client engagements.
  • Work with AI consultants, automation specialists and architects to enable end-to-end solutions.
  • Ensure documentation and standards are maintained to support ongoing managed services.

Innovation & Service Development

  • Contribute to repeatable approaches for data readiness and governance.
  • Support the development of data-driven service offerings.
  • Stay current with emerging data and AI technologies.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Experience in data engineering, data consulting or analytics engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 data capabilities.
  • Experience working with data pipelines, integration and transformation.
  • Understanding of data governance, security and compliance principles.
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in client-facing delivery, assessments or workshops.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, delivery-focused approach.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to link data work to business outcomes.

Candidate Profile

A client-focused data professional with a strong understanding of how to prepare and structure data for AI and digital transformation. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across both advisory and delivery, translating business needs into practical, secure data solutions.

They will be a strong communicator and collaborator, with a proactive mindset, curiosity for emerging technologies and a focus on building high-quality data foundations that unlock real AI value.
